Dear “Friend of C.H.A.I.N.”

We opened our Early Intervention Centre in Tamariskia, Swakopmund in 1994. Our therapist trained in Germany and through her dedicated work with the children, was very quickly achieving impressive results.

Through the committed care and with the stimulation they receive both from the Centre and from their families, these handicapped children will hopefully reach a level of independence previously denied them. Some children have already been integrated into our local schools and are doing very well.

To meet the costs of running the Centre the committee is actively involved in fund raising and this letter is just one of many ways we endeavour to make some money, to ensure the long-term viability of this vital unit.

Being a “Friend of C.H.A.I.N.” (Children with Handicaps Action In Namibia) entails a N$50 membership fee once a year.

We hope and trust you will support us in our attempt to help the children who are least able to help themselves. The future of Namibia is in the hands of the children, but the future of the children is in your hands.

With kind regards

LOLA JAMES
