CURRENT ACTIVITIES IN SWAKOPMUND

The children are collected at home by car in the morning, brought to the center and follow a type of kindergarten program, which is adjusted to meet the special needs of the children. Once a week the children are driven to fun-gym, horse-riding lessons and physiotherapy. When possible, the children are taken on special outings. Then they are transported home again at lunchtime.

In the afternoons individual therapy, family and group therapy is attended to. We also have parent’s evening once a month.

Dr Charmaine van Heeden, a pediatrician based in Swakopmund, provides proper assessment and excellent advice.

The C.H.A.I.N center, Swakopmund currently has 18 children attending.

EXTENDED ACTIVITIES

In Walvis Bay the Sunshine Center has been initiated; although we are available when and where necessary, they are funded by a fishing company and operate independently.

We are in contact with Mrs Heidi Zimmer who is currently looking into the possibility of opening a school with a hostel in Windhoek. She has our full support, because such a facility is urgently needed in Namibia.
